School starts in one week and going back to school is rarely cheap. To help, one thousand backpacks full of school supplies were given away to five central Texas schools. That’s 200 backpacks per school. They’ll be handed out to economically challenged students. Headspring, a software and mobile app company in Austin, hosted the backpack drive. “For me, I remember right around that 3rd or 4th grade age not having supplies. So it was important for me to give back and there’s just something immeasurable when you have your own supplies and you don’t have to look over to another kid and you know, hey, I can be just as successful as the next kid”, says Headspring EVP of Sales JT McCormick. The goal is to make sure every kid has the chance to be successful this coming school year.
